Construction Administration

During construction, the architect visits the site and keeps in contact with the builder on a regular basis.  However, the architect is not there to supervise, oversee, or direct the construction.  The architect is your on- site agent to represent your interests and check to see that construction is consistent with the drawings.  Typically, the communication between owner and builder is though the architect.  This minimizes confusion and allows the architect to analyze whether or not any changes may compromise the construction budget or design of the project.

The most important thing an architect dose during the construction phase is solve any problems between the owner and the contractor that may come up during process.  Building is never trouble free.  When problems arise, it is crucial that the architect work together with owner and builder, to find solutions.
